SECURITY INFORMATION

Concerns about trespassing and vandalism caused the Board to implement the following policies:

ID bracelets will be used to identify residents and guests on the Hilltop park and pool/pavilion

  • Homeowners will be issued two ID bracelets per household

  • Bracelets must be worn to access the hilltop park and while inside the pool pavilion area

  • Guests must be accompanied by an Alstead resident wearing an Alstead bracelet

  • Only one bracelet need be displayed per household (and household guests)

  • Anyone not wearing an Alstead bracelet or accompanied by an Alstead resident wearing an Alstead bracelet will be asked to leave the hilltop park and/or pool pavilion

Residents or guests using visitor parking spaces must display an Alstead parking pass in their car

  • Homeowners will be issued two Alstead parking passes per household

  • Cars parked in visitor spaces without a valid parking pass are at risk of being booted/towed

  • Residents who expect to have more than two guests parking on a given day may send a note to the board (alsteadbod@gmail.com) requesting additional “temporary” parking passes

FAQs

Q: When will the policies go into effect?

A: The Board expects the bracelets and parking passes to be distributed the week of June 1st . The policy will go into effect immediately after bracelets and parking passes are distributed.

Q: Who will enforce these policies?

A: The Board is creating a “Neighborhood Watch” committee. Committee members will be asked to monitor the subdivision to make sure these policies are being followed. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please reach out to the Board at AlsteadBOD@gmail.com

Q: What will happen if there’s no parking pass displayed in a car?

A: That car may receive a warning sticker on the first instance. On the second instance, the car will be at risk of being booted or towed.

Q: What will happen if I am on the hilltop without an ID bracelet?

A: If neither you nor anyone in your group has an ID bracelet, you may be asked to leave the hilltop or pool area by a member of the Alstead Neighborhood Watch committee or an Alstead Board member. If you refuse to leave, you are at risk of having the police called to escort you from the hilltop or pool area.

Q: What if I lose my bracelet or parking pass?

A: Bracelets and parking passes will be replaced at a cost of $20 each.  Contact the Alstead board at alsteadbod@gmail.com for a replacement

Q: I feel like I need more than two bracelets and/or parking passes?

A: Only one member of a household need show a bracelet while on the hilltop or pool area, so only two bracelets are needed per household.   Residents who expect to have more than two guests park within Alstead on a given day may send a note to the board (AlsteadBOD@gmail.com) and request additional “temporary” parking passes

Q: What other ideas did the Board consider to protect the hilltop park?

A: The idea of private security guards, perimeter fencing and security cameras were all explored, however, each was considered either too costly, unfeasible and/or ineffective.
